Every Stream School program is free, and most students arrive without a rod. The gear collecting dust in your garage still has a first trout in it. Donate it, and a Harvey Leader will put it in a kid’s hands.

If It Can Fish, We Can Use It

Fly gear and general tackle both help: the Warm Waters track puts spin-friendly families on bluegill water too. If you are not sure about an item, ask through the form.

CONDITION GUIDELINES

Fishable, Not Perfect

Scratches, faded wraps, and a well-worn cork are fine. Every donated rod is inspected, cleaned, and rigged by a certified Harvey Leader before it reaches a student’s hands.

What we cannot use: rods broken beyond a tip repair, corroded reels that no longer turn, and waders that no longer hold water out.

HOW IT WORKS

Four Steps, Start to Stream

Tell us what you have. Use the form below. A photo helps but is not required.

We arrange the handoff. Drop-off at a partner fly shop or TU chapter event, or ship it - the coordinator will set it up with you.

A Harvey Leader preps it. Inspected, cleaned, rigged with a fresh leader, and matched to the right age tier.

It goes fishing. Your rod shows up at a clinic in a kid’s hands. That is the whole point.
